The Arizona Cardinals have had an up-and-down 2024 season. They went from a rough 1-3 start to an impressive four-game winning streak to losing three of their last four.

They are currently 7-7 and third in the NFC West, one game behind the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks. Whether they make the playoffs or not, multiple areas on their roster are becoming clear needs for the upcoming offseason.

In the newest A to Z Sports mock draft, the Cardinals added a small school phenom to their defense.

Cardinals land Marshal edge rusher Mike Green in new mock draft

"A late riser after leading the nation in production, Mike Green is no longer a sleeper. Arizona lacks impact defensive playmakers, so taking a swing on the 6-foot-4, 248-pound speed rusher is a worthy gamble. Green is more refined than most would expect based on his school"

New A to Z Sports Mock Draft

One glaring need for the Cardinals will be to get more out of their pass rush. Their current sack leader, Dante Stills, only has 4.5 sacks through 13 games. In this new mock draft, they selected one of the biggest sleepers in the entire class, Marshall edge rusher Mike Green.

Green began his college career at Virginia in 2021 and transferred to Marshall in 2023. His first season with the Thundering Herd was nothing special, with him recording 4.5 sacks and 43 total tackles in 13 games. But in 2024, he exploded onto the scene, recording a team-high and leading the FBS with 17 sacks and 23 tackles for loss. And I know some of you might be saying, "Well, that's because he doesn't play anyone." He still had some solid numbers in the team's two games against P4 schools.

@ Virginia Tech: 2 sacks, five QB hurries
@ Ohio State: 1 sack in just 27 snaps (season low)
