As transfer portal action ramps up around college football, the Bayou Bengals are stepping to the plate to add notable offensive talent. On Tuesday, evening they landed another impact player for Garrett Nussmeier to throw the ball to next season.
LSU lands top portal WR
The Tigers got a commitment from Oklahoma transfer wide receiver Nic Anderson. He was a top ten player in the portal, according to On3Sports.
Anderson broke onto the season with a strong 2023 with the Sooners. This season, he battled injuries, but the talent is undeniable. He projects to slot immediately into a potential starting role for LSU.
The former Sooners WR was ranked as the fourth-best receiver in the portal.
Anderson averaged 21 yards per reception during the 2023 season. You read that right. Calling him a downfield threat is an understatement, in all reality.
Alongside fellow transfer WR Barion Brown, the Tigers will have a demonstrably different look at the top of the position next season. Both are different types of wide receiver for stating QB Garrett Nussmeier.
Florida State's wideout Destyn Hill also committed to the Tigers and Brian Kelly this week. They've clearly looked to fill the cupboards at pass catcher so far in the portal.
Kyren Lacy is headed to the NFL Draft, and LSU remains a potential landing spot for Georgia Tech transfer wideout Eric Singleton Jr., another top-line potential starter.
Brian Kelly lands another huge transfer portal recruit that will have the LSU Tiger fanbase hyped up
It’s been a phenomenal week for the Tigers
