While the NFL draft doesn't tend to care where players want to go, Deion Sanders hopes his influence and presence can sway where his son is selected. Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is the top quarterback prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, and several quarterback-needy teams are in a position to potentially land the No. 1 pick.
Deion Sanders was asked on The Pacman Jones Show where he thinks and wants Sanders and Travis Hunter to be selected.
Jones proposed the idea of the Las Vegas Raiders—a team that has had ties to Shedeur Sanders for several weeks—ascending to the top position currently held by the New York Giants. Coach Prime intervened, emphasizing that if the Giants are in the No. 1 spot, they will draft his son.
"The Giants are not going to give up that pick," Deion said. "Shedeur's going to be the No. 1 pick."
This comment follows shortly after Shedeur was seen throwing passes with emerging New York star wide receiver Malik Nabers in preparation for the Heisman ceremony.
The coach from Colorado feels that the situation with the Raiders at the No. 2 pick could become complicated, but he believes Hunter might be a candidate for the Buffaloes to secure the top two picks in the draft.
"That's when the game starts to play," he said. "The Raiders could go with Cam [Ward, Miami quarterback] or there could be some junk in the game and take Trav."
