No one likes losing money, especially around the holidays and I'm sure it's happened to hundreds of people already in the last week.

Whether it's from plumbing issues, subscriptions services, or for simply lowering your helmet while running the ball in a football game.

The later is exactly what just happened to Chicago Bears' running back D'Andre Swift and the league took a big chunk of change out of his pockets.

Swift was fined a total of $22,511 for lowering his helmet to initiate contact during the second quarter of last week's game against the Minnesota Vikings. There was no flag on the play, that resulted in a six-yard gain on 2nd-and-four.

Swift's fine on Saturday was tied for the highest fine given out by the league heading into the holiday weekend and I'm sure Swift isn't going to be happy to hear the news.

It's already been a frustrating week for Swift and the rest of his Bears' teammates with the team coming off a second blowout loss, and overall an eighth consecutive loss.

"It's the little things that we got to eliminate," Swift said. "Very frustrating. [We] prepare the whole week to put yourself in a position to succeed and when it doesn't happen it's very frustrating. We got to go back and try to work and correct those things. That's the theme of the year."

The Bears will have a quick turnaround to get things back on track. The team will play the Detroit Lions on Sunday and then play the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday following Christmas Day.

Swift becomes the ninth Bears player to be fined this season. Here's the list of all the fines the league has laid down on various Bears players this season.
