After weighing his options, Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck underwent surgery on his right elbow, which was a success, according to an official statement sent out by the university.
The statement also shared that Beck is expected to make a full recovery and get back to throwing as soon as next spring.
“Georgia quarterback Carson Beck underwent successful surgery Monday on his right elbow to repair his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), performed by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, Ca,” the official statement read. “A full recovery is expected with throwing to begin spring of 2025.”
Beck finished the 2024 season starting all 13 games for the Bulldogs while tossing for 3,485 yards with 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Now, Beck has a huge decision to make. With one more season left of eligibility, Beck can return to Georgia, enter the NCAA transfer portal, or leave for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Since being injured during Georgia's SEC Championship win over Texas, Beck has not been present at workouts or practice with the team. That has left backup Gunner Stockton taking all of the first-team reps at practice as Georgia prepares for their first playoff game against Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.
The Jan. 1 matchup will mark the sophomore quarterback's first career start.
