Travis Kelce got two extra Christmas presents during the Kansas City Chiefs' game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Not only did the tight end record his 1,000 reception during the second half, but he also broke a franchise record.
Patrick Mahomes connected with Kelce for a 12-yard touchdown, officially marking his 77th touchdown. And with that, Kelce passed Tony Gonzalez for the most receiving touchdowns in franchise history.
Afterwards, he celebrated in the perfect way.
Kelce brought back the iconic crossbar dunk celebration that Gonzalez popularized during his time in the league.
"I don't want him to break it. Come on," Gonzalez joked back in November. "I am so happy for him. He's one of the best tight ends to ever do it. On and off the field, I've been watching him grow. I've been following him since he was a rookie. And I'm not surprised by it. He's one of the greatest tight ends of all time. To have myself, then to have Travis to come and take that torch. A lot of history is going to be broken out on this field today."
Knowing that the tight end would probably get penalized for this, Gonzalez made Kelce an offer that he couldn't pass up prior to the Chiefs' Black Friday game.
Gonzalez vowed to pick up the tab if Kelce gave him that shout-out after he breaks the record.
"If he dunks it, I will pay that fine," Gonzalez said.
Now we'll just have to see if Gonzalez holds up his end of the bargain
