The Philadelphia Eagles' path to the Super Bowl looks brighter after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers, 27-13, in Week 15. Not only that, but the Detroit Lions (12-2) losing 48-42 to the Buffalo Bills (11-3) on Sunday night was a big help for Philly.
But despite the Lions' loss to Buffalo, the Eagles remain stuck behind Detroit in the Super Bowl favorites race.
Across several betting sportsbooks, the Bills and Lions are the two Super Bowl favorites with Philly's odds either tied with or a bit behind Detroit.
Of course, the Eagles will need to keep winning and hope that the Lions pick up more losses over the final three weeks of the 2024 NFL season for everything to fall in place.
But while the Super Bowl and another Detroit loss may be in the back of their minds, that's not what their focus is heading into Week 16 against the Washington Commanders.
"I know this is boring to everybody, but we’re focused on the next game," Sirianni said. "We’ll enjoy this one. I’ve got some family in town. We’ll all enjoy this one tonight, and we’ll be back to work tomorrow.
"We can’t control anything about the Lions, so our main focus is to control what we can control. I know that’s boring. I know that makes for zero press for you guys, and I apologize for that, but our focus is the next game. Our focus is locked in front of us. Our focus is now Washington Commanders."
The Eagles have one last road trip against Washington and return home for their final two games against the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.
That's an easy schedule for the Birds to end their year, but Sirianni knows that can't get too ahead of themselves, especially after what happened last fall.
As for Detroit, they have two road games, including a Monday Night Football game against the San Francisco 49ers, before their season finale at home.
