It looks like playing quarterback in the SEC is becoming a family affair for the Iamaleava family.
Madden Iamaleava, brother of Tennessee starting QB Nico Iamaleava, chose the Arkansas Razorbacks on Wednesday on the first day of the early signing period for recruits. Iamaleava signed with the Hogs after being committed to the UCLA Bruins since May.
Iamaleava (Long Beach Poly HS) is a consensus four-star recruit as a dual threat quarterback. He held a slew of offers across the country, including one from Tennessee. He visited UCLA in mid-May and pulled the trigger on a commitment days later.
However, Sam Pittman and Bobby Petrino stayed on Iamaleava, and their efforts finally paid off at the last minute.
And in case you were wondering, yes, the Vols and Hogs are slated to play next season. Arkansas is listed as a home opponent for the Vols in 2025. That means Madden and Nico will indeed be on opposing sidelines for the tilt, which should at least make travel easier for their parents that particular weekend. We'll find out when that matchup will take place on Wednesday, December 11, when the full 2025 SEC schedule is revealed.
