Lady Vols head coach Kim Caldwell had a great opening line during her post-game press conference after Tennessee's 79-77 win against Florida State on Wednesday.

Tennessee led Florida State by 18 points at halftime, but a big third quarter from the Seminoles (they outscored the Lady Vols 30-12 in the third quarter) made for a close finish between the two programs.

Caldwell opened her post-game press conference by referencing a text her grandmother sent after the game.

"Not a great win, but we'll take it," said Caldwell. "Nothing like blowing an 18 point lead. My grandma texted and said what happened and I said it was a terrible halftime speech. We have a lot to learn from this one. I think we needed it. We needed a test and the more you can get tested early, the better you'll be going into conference [play] and that's what all of your non-conference schedule is about."

Caldwell is in her first season as the head coach of the Lady Vols and her tenure is off to a great start.

Tennessee is now 6-0 after their win against Florida State.

The Lady Vols will play their first game of the season outside of Knoxville on Saturday when they travel to Brooklyn for a matchup against No. 17 Iowa in the Shark Beauty Women's Champions Classic.
