Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart speaks to media follow win over Georgia Tech

There was one questionable play call that caused an uproar across Dawg Nation in Georiga's 44-42 eight overtime win over Georgia Tech.

That call came after Georgia had finally put points on the board to make the score 17-6 following a Carson Beck to Oscar Delp touchdown in the third quarter.

Rather than kick an extra point, Kirby Smart's team opted to get into to field position for a two-point conversion.

The attempt failed after Beck's pass to Dominic Lovett was incomplete.

Following the victory, Smart was asked about his decision to call the early two-point conversion but remained short with his answer.

"Interesting question. I'm not going to dig real deep in it," Smart said. "It's analytics, and we follow them almost to a 'T.' We're in charge of that. It ended up looking really interesting because you kick an extra point to win the game."

Beck, on the other hand, couldn't find an explanation at all.

"Shoot, that’s beyond me, honestly," he said. "I’m not sure.”

In the end, it didn't really matter as Beck and the Bulldogs were able to come up with their 31st straight win at home — even if it took an extra hour.

"I'm just proud of our guys for the fight and the grit and the toughness, and that's that's really my focus," Smart said.  "I mean, just keep getting better and don't ride the wave of emotion, because if things went the other way on one of those plays tonight, we'd be playing next week for our lives to go and play well, right? So our opportunities in front of us, we gotta go out and play well and play a good team."
