The Bengals only played three games this month and haven't experienced victory since November 3 when they took down the Las Vegas Raiders at home. Failing to beat the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers on the road in the following weeks has severely damaged their chances at returning to the postseason.
The playoffs are still over a month away, and the Bengals can't even think about getting there without first beating a quality team. Their strength of victory remains the lowest in the NFL at .227 as they've yet to claim victory against a winning club. That's what makes this week all the more important. Can the Bengals finally prove themselves against a team they could face later in January, or will the season effectively end on Sunday?
The oddsmakers like the Bengals' chances, surprisingly. Cincinnati opened the week as 2.5-point favorites and the line has since moved to -3 in favor of the home team. If they're right, it could be the start of a magical month for Joe Burrow and Co.
