Well, it seems that Saturday in Norman was the final nail in the coffin for the Alabama Crimson Tide

Following their devasting loss against the Oklahoma Sooners, the Tide officially dropped out of the College Football Playoff top 12.

It's going to be a steep climb back with only one week to go:

Alabama Falls to #13 in latest CFP Rankings

It's a steep fall, but one that was expected after Jalen Milroe and the rest of the Tide's offense put together a performance that was one of the worst in recent memory at the Capstone.

"I just think a lot of it comes down to some execution in all areas," HC Kalen DeBoer said in his opening statement during Monday's presser. "Offense, defense gets up here and talks but I think it’s all areas execution can be better. Obviously the turnover margin and some big plays and momentum-changing plays there played a role. And I think our inability to create explosives – I always look at that. We lost that area, too, in the game. There’s details as to why all those things happened. We meet with our team yesterday. I think that’s what you can do with this group, is you can be very truthful, very honest. The relationships there, the trust’s there, the leadership with our staff or just our leadership within our team. They want to know the facts. They want to know the details."

The focus for the Tide turns to the Iron Bowl. Nothing else matters when it comes to Saturday in Tuscaloosa, as Auburn is a must-win no matter the state of the program, but especially given the tenor that has overcome the Capstone.

But if rivalry week has shown us anything in the past, it's that the unexpected should be expected. All it takes is an upset or two, and suddenly Alabama is back in the mix.

But it all starts with a win on Saturday.
