Turning Sanford Stadium into one of the loudest and toughest environments to play in has always been a goal for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.
But that job comes down to the fans.
Sanford Stadium was really loud when Georiga took on Tennessee in Week 12, resulting in a 31-17 win over the Volunteers.
Following the huge victory, coach Smart and several players, including starting linebacker Smael Mondon, gave a lot of credit to the fans for how well they performed.
“They were lit. They were piping,” Mondon said. “To see them turnt like that, we really feed off their energy. They started getting loud, they starting rockin’ and helping us, and (Tennessee) had a couple of false starts. It played a big role.”
And now Georgia's star guard and team captain Tate Ratledge is hoping the crowd volume is exactly like for the Bulldogs' upcoming Friday night rivalry matchup against Georgia Tech.
Ratledge posted a message on X/Twitter Tuesday morning, asking fans to bring that "same energy" this weekend for the "Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate" game.
"Y’all had Sanford rocking two weeks ago! We need that same energy this weekend! #GoDawgs," Ratledge wrote.
It's Thanksgiving week, so several Georgia students may be home for the Holiday, though the hope is that Sanford Stadium can still get loud with the fans who do show up on Black Friday.
And in case you didn't get the memo, wear black for another successful blackout.
The Bulldogs are 19.5 favorites over the Yellow Jackets and a win means no more questioning whether or not they are locked into the College Football Playoffs.
