Missouri Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz loves being petty — even when there's no reason to be — and it backfired on him this week.

Drinkwitz and the Tigers are set to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Drinkwitz met with reporters and he appeared to purposefully mispronounce Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green's name.

Drinkwitz pronounced Green's first name as "Talon", after warning reporters that he may mispronounce it.

Fans on social media immediately saw through Drinkwitz's mistake and assumed that he mispronounced Green's name on purpose.

Green has started six games for Arkansas this season. And his name is pronounced exactly like it's spelled. Nothing about "Taylen" looks like it should be pronounced "Talon".

This is the kind of goofy stuff we've come to expect from Drinkwitz. Between this and yelling at the Mississippi State sideline last week, it feels like Drinkwitz is more concerned with going viral than what happens on the field.

Drinkwitz has been a solid SEC head coach. He led the Tigers to 11 wins last season and they could win 10 games this season. That's undoubtedly an impressive feat.

But it feels like Drinkwitz is holding himself back from being even better than he is. Stop with the sideshow stuff and just focus on winning games, Drink.
