Defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins (illness) and linebacker Logan Wilson (knee) were the lone Bengals to not practice at all. Head coach Zac Taylor told reporters Monday that Rankins, who missed Week 11, is still working through his illness. Wilson's knee injury appears to be new. He was listed with a quad injury back in Week 11 before the bye week.

Several Bengals were limited for various reasons. Wide receiver Tee Higgins and defensive tackle B.J. Hill each had half-days for rest. Taylor said prior to practice that Higgins isn't injured but will be limited going forward as a proactive way to prevent future injuries in practice. Higgins has tweaked his hamstring and quad in practice this year.

"Tee's good, so we just got a plan for Tee moving forward," Taylor said of Higgins. "You'll see him limited some days, more with the trainers some days. He's in a great place right now, we're just trying to make sure it stays that way. Sometimes don't read too much into what happens on a Wednesday practice with Tee. He's in great shape."

Linebacker Joe Bachie (hip), left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. (fibula), wide receiver Charlie Jones (groin), and right tackle Amarius Mims (ankle) were all limited as well. Brown and Jones have each missed the past three games with their respective injuries. Bachie also missed Week 11's contest.

As for the Steelers, edge defender Alex Highsmith (ankle) was a DNP but there is hope he'll play Sunday. He's missed the past two weeks with his injury. Three other Steelers, including former Bengals defensive Larry Ogunjobi, had rest days. Ogunjobi was limited while left guard Isaac Seumalo and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward were DNPs for rest. Cornerback Cory Trice Jr. (ankle) and defensive tackle Montravious Adams (knee) were full participants.
