The Jets selection in a new 2025 NFL mock draft would confirm the suspicion many have ahead of the team's offseason

The New York Jets haven't reached the heights they envisioned when they acquired Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers.
They lost him to a season-ending injury during the first game of last season, and year two has been arguably a bigger disappointment, with the team only winning three games through the first 12 weeks of the season.
As a result, many on the team and the fan base have likely begun looking to the future, specifically 2025. With multiple roster needs presenting themselves, the 2025 NFL Draft could go in multiple different directions.
In the latest A to Z Sports mock draft, the team elected to replace a defensive starter who will become a free agent this offseason.
Jets land Michigan star CB Will Johnson III in a new mock draft

"The Jets have a few needs and more question marks with Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams potentially moving on after the season. As things currently sit, take the best player and let the rest fall.
Johnson has been viewed as the best player in the class by multiple people and would be an excellent player to have with Sauce Gardner, especially if they stay in a man coverage heavy defense."
I'm sure most fans want to see a rookie quarterback walk through the door to replace Aaron Rodgers. But the unfortunate reality is that multiple QB-needy teams are ahead of the Jets in the draft standings. So without a trade up, they may be looking at the fourth best QB in the class at beast, which wouldn't be the best approach for whoever they hire as their new GM to begin his tenure.
Instead, they go the best player available in this recent mock, and they land Sauce Gardner quite the partner in crime in Michigan corner Will Johnson. Some believe Johnson is the best overall prospect in the entire 2025 NFL Draft class. His coverage instincts have helped him shut down multiple top WRs throughout the country during his collegiate career. Honestly, the only reason he is probably on the board for the Jets is that he has missed most of his final season at Michigan with a toe injury that he has been unable to control.
If they went this route, it would likely mean the end of D.J. Reed's time with the Jets. The veteran CB is set to become a free agent this offseason, and many expect the two sides to go their separate ways, especially with the team having some other tough decisions to make with players like Rodgers and Davante Adams. Pairing Gardner and Johnson would immediately create one of the most feared CB duos in the NFL. Having Johnson on a rookie deal will help pave the way for Gardner to receive his much-deserved extension in the near future.
Three reasons for Jets fans to be thankful this Thanksgiving
As Jets fans wake up on Thanksgiving morning, they find themselves in a familiar place. Essentially out of the playoffs even before they get a turkey dinner. Once again, they will not play any meaningful games in December (at least meaningful to them) and they will watch as other fan bases sweat over playoff clinching […]
