The Kansas City Chiefs made their splash ahead of the NFL's Nov. 5 trade deadline, acquiring WR DeAndre Hopkins in a trade with the Tennessee Titans.

Hopkins, a five-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowl receiver, has long admired Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. That admiration has occurred even though they've often been on opposing sides in the most critical games on the NFL gridiron. Hopkins was part of the 2019 Houston Texans team that saw Mahomes erase a 24-point deficit to comeback and win by 20 points in the AFC divisional playoffs.

He's seen "Mahomes Magic" up close and he's shown that admiration on X (formerly Twitter). The first tweet came after Mahomes signed his record, decade-long contract extension with Kansas City in July of 2020. Hopkins said there are "24 reasons" why Mahomes deserved the extension and added, "0 Doubts he will win more Super Bowls." Get it? 24 and 0 being nods to that AFC divisional playoff loss for Houston, and the deficit Mahomes and the offense erased.

Hopkins' other tweet came the day after Super Bowl LVII when the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35. Upon winning his second Super Bowl title and his second Super Bowl MVP, Hopkins said the following: "Patrick Mahomes is different."

Now Hopkins will have a chance to win a Super Bowl and cement his legacy alongside Mahomes. He already seems prepared to chase after a ring after rushing to Kansas City for practice on Wednesday ahead of Raiders week. He'll get to be a part of everything that he's admired from afar for so long.
