Something has looked off with Alabama Crimson Tide QB Jalen Milroe over the past three weeks.

A Heisman Trophy frontrunner after the Georgia Bulldogs game, his stock along with the Tide's chances at the College Football Playoff has plummeted.

The two are not mutually exclusive, and it has lead some to ponder if Jalen Milroe is dealing with an injury, something Kalen DeBoer tried his best to downplay:

Milroe dealing with an injury?

“I think at this point during the year, I don’t think there’s many guys that play a lot of snaps that don’t have something and just working through it, but he’s more than capable and as he goes through the week you know you’re just ready to play on Saturday," DeBoer said of Milroe on Monday when asked if he's playing with an injury. "There’s nothing that’s going to be holding him back from going out there and helping us get a win. I’m confident of that."

While Milroe has struggled the last two weeks, throwing twice as many interceptions as TDs, he looked like an entirely different player against the Vols, completing a season-low 55.6% of his passes and rushing for a mere 14 yards on 11 carries.

Saturday's version of Milroe looked more like one we saw before USF last year than the player that ascended to one of the sport's better QBs

"That’s the biggest message to the guys is we have seen it [good play]," said OC Nick Sheridan on Monday. "It’s not like this is something that you’re chasing that you haven’t done or shown. And so that’s the message not just to Jalen but to the rest of the group is to get back to playing the type of football we know we’re capable of playing and that’s our task this week."

The tests don't get any easier this week. In comes a Missouri team that boasts one of the best WRs in the nation, a matchup that is a lot harder following the latest injury news

So whatever football Alabama is capable of, they will need that and more to right the ship and get back on track against the Tigers.
