It's a pretty sad state of affairs in Ann Arbor this week, as the Michigan Wolverines are fresh off of a 21-7 loss to the Illinois Fighting Illini this weekend.

The offense looked out of sorts for most of the game, particularly through the air. Jack Tuttle frequently made mistakes, turning the ball over twice and barely moving the ball forward outside of garbage time.

This was a concern for the team after Washington when the Huskies were able to adapt to Tuttle quickly and shut down the Wolverines' offense in the second half. Tuttle was sacked five times by Illinois this weekend.

Michigan is one of two teams in all of college football that have thrown for less than 1000 passing yards while posting double-digit turnovers, sharing that dubious honor with Kennesaw State, who doesn't have a single win all season.

Now, the Wolverines are potentially considering another move at quarterback.

Head coach Sherrone Moore professed after the game his frustration at the turnovers (Tuttle has fumbled twice on nine scrambles), and how that impacts their quarterback room moving forward.

"You don’t wanna go to four quarterbacks. You don’t wanna have to go through this process. But you got a guy that’s — you gotta take care of the football. So we’re gonna see what we gotta do, and we’ll have that conversation as we go."

The Wolverines have had only one game (USC) where a quarterback didn't turn the ball over, but they didn't ask the quarterback to do much in that one either.

In a presser on Monday, Moore acknowledged that they need to simplify things for the quarterback, but emphasized that the turnovers are a major issue. He remained coy about who could start at quarterback when the Wolverines take on Michigan State in Ann Arbor this weekend, saying "we’ll see as we practice this week.", leaving the door open for a potential change at quarterback.

Could the Wolverines finally be turning to Jadyn Davis, who fans have wanted to see all season long? Now might be the time.
