The Detroit Lions and their fans got some news they defintley did not want to hear late Monday night. Receiver Jameson Williams has been suspended for two games by the NFL for violating the league's Performance Enhancing Substance policy.
While there's reason to believe that this could alter his future in the sense that he may not get an extension this coming offseason and will have to prove he can stay on the field with no setbacks in 2025, there are some cap ramifications that will hit this year. Albeit nothing outrageous.
Williams will have to forfeit $210,270 for the suspension. That's essentially two game checks for him. That doesn't add a ton of money that allows the Lions to trade for Maxx Crosby or something like that, but it does put some money back in the bank for Detroit.
