The Green Bay Packers beat the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but it was a costly game in terms of injuries. That included issues with two of the most valuable players on the roster. Quarterback Jordan Love injured his groin, and cornerback Jaire Alexander left the game with a knee concern.
Love
Jordan Love suffered a groin injury in the first Packers offensive drive. He tried to play through it in the first half and returned to the second half, but wasn't able to protect himself after the first drive after halftime, so backup quarterback Malik Willis got in.
According to NFL Network's insider Ian Rapoport, Love will go through exams on Monday. He is not expected to miss much time, and the expectation is that the quarterback will be back at the latest after the bye, when the Packers face the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
However, Love's situation for this week against the Detroit Lions is in question, and it's depending on how the player recovers and feels throughout the week.
Jaire
Alexander got injured during the final Jaguars drive, when they scored with tight end Evan Engram. The star cornerback fell weirdly and limped off the field.
According to Rob Demovsky, from ESPN, Alexander will go through an MRI to check what happened and if there's any damage.
The Packers are 6-2 in the regular season, second place in the NFC North. If they beat the Lions on Sunday, they'll surpass them and take command of the Division. However, Love and Alexander's availability may play a huge part in those results.
