Georgia Bulldogs running back Branson Robinson exited last Saturday's 41-31 win over Mississippi State early with a right knee injury.

Head coach Kirby Smart did not have a clear answer on Robinson's injury after the game but shared more details on Monday.

Smart said that Branson is dealing with an MCL injury and while he couldn't provide a timeline on his return, he mentioned that he could miss at least the next two or three weeks.

The good news, however, is that the injury is not the same knee that he injured last season.

"Yeah so Branson has an MCL," Smart said. "I don't know how many weeks it'll be. He will not be available this week. Forecasting it out is impossible because the MCL is one of the ones that has to heal itself. We've had MCLs in the past anything from, you know, two weeks to three weeks. I don't know what it's going to be, but he is he's going to be OK. It's just a matter of getting back, and it was not the same leg injury that he previously had, you know? It was different."

In five games so far, Branson has carried the ball 22 times for 61 yards and two touchdowns.

With Robinson out against No. 1 Texas next week, the Bulldogs will rely on starter Tevor Etienne, true freshman Nate Frazier, and redshirt junior Cash Jones.
