The Georgia Bulldogs are en route back to Athens with another win under their belt after upsetting the No. 1 Texas Longhorns, 30-15.

While it was a surprising victory for many, it certainly wasn't one to Georgia head coach Kirby Smart, who never once doubted his team.

“Our whole program was being doubted. I mean, did you watch the show this morning? I didn’t because I was in meetings, but I got 8,000 texts about it," Smart said, "Somebody was doubting us. Maybe it wasn’t y’all, but there’s a lot of people doubting our kids and the ability to go on the road and win. Look, we were able to win this game because of what we had done before this. Like, going to Kentucky and playing and going to Alabama and playing. We didn’t flinch. You don’t flinch when you’ve been in these battles.”

Quarterback Carson Beck logged one of his worst games of the season but still managed to keep the game alive after throwing for 175 yards, 0 passing touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Aside from star running back Trevor Etienne's three rushing touchdowns, tight end Oscar Delp stepped up big-time for the Dawgs on offense.

Delp, who had previously barely been involved in the offense, recorded his best game of the season so far after reeling in two receptions for 45 yards.

His presence was really felt when he hauled in a 43-yard pass from Beck that ultimately set Etienne up for his third and final touchdown of the game.

There was a lot of doubt surrounding this Georgia team entering the matchup since they don't have a real No. 1 pass catcher like they did in Brock Bowers last year. But it's looking more and more like they don't really need one.

“I don’t know. Maybe they didn’t doubt us," Smart said. "They just believed more in Texas than us. I think we’re a very well-respected program. We’ve got a really good team, and we played a couple of really good halves. We flashed some ability to be really good. We just have to be able to sustain it longer. Look, I know everybody thinks I play that doubter role, all that. I really don’t care. I mean, I don’t. But after the game, it’s a lot easier to say. I don’t bring it up to our players. Everybody thinks that we preach nobody believes in you. Our intent was different. Our intent when we walked on that field was completely different.”

The Dawgs enter their second bye next week and then hit the road again for their annual Florida vs. Georgia matchup.

Smart doesn't plan on letting this win over Texas get too into his head between now and then.

“Humility is two weeks away,” Smart said.
