This season was always going to be a bit tough for the Cleveland Browns with a younger schedule than last year. Still, it was thought that the Browns still had the team to make it to the playoffs.
Boy, do myself and everyone else who thought that look … wrong. The Browns look like maybe the worst team in the NFL and they have a historically bad offense that continues to knock them down.
Week 6 brought the Browns another loss. This time the Philadelphia Eagles got their chance to hold the Browns under 20 points, like every other team has so far this season
Following the fourth straight loss, defensive end Myles Garrett talked about the locker room a bit and gave a peak in on things.
"We have some great leaders in this locker room, including myself," Garrett stated. "I'm not going to let these guys waiver at any point. We have a lot of games left, have a lot of season left, have a lot of AFC games left to still keep ourselves in the picture and keep ourselves focused on that. So, (we’re) not worried about that.”
The thing is that the Browns were supposed to take advantage of the softer opening schedule and win multiple of these games. Instead, they have lost games to the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants that they shouldn’t have. You can argue that they were a team before the season that you had beating both the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders too. Nope, they lost all four of those games.
Things are tough for Cleveland right now, but it appears the locker room is intact and the wheels aren’t falling off just yet. Next up, the Browns have a Cincinnati Bengals team that has their own problems and perhaps that’ll be an opportunity to get right.
If this losing streak continues, don’t be surprised if the Browns start selling off some players and other changes come about. We’re not there yet, but we are also not far off.
