Marshall Matters and the Detroit Lions continue to be a unique pairing and this time it happened in an extremely heartwarming way.
On Thursday, Eminem released his latest music video in which the Lions made a unique appearance in one of the most important moments of the production.
The video, which was made for the track Temporary from Eminem's latest album The Death of Slim Shady, showed tapes of the rapper's daughter, Hailie, as a child. It's an emotional video as the lyrics of the song are a message from her dad. According to Eminem on the intro to the song, it's about "the things I want to say to (Hailie), when (he's) no longer here."
Interwoven with all of the tapes from the past, we get to see Hallie on her wedding dress on her actual wedding day. Additionally, we get to see a clip from Hailie with Eminem, in which she surprises her dad a Lions jersey with the word "Grandpa" on the back.
That's right, the Lions were centerstage on Hailie's baby reveal to her dad. If that doesn't tell you how important the team is to the legendary Detroit rapper, I don't know what will. What a moment.
Eminem has always been very vocal about his fandom for the Lions and his love for Detroit and is frequently cheering for the team, including during last year's deep playoff run when he even traveled to San Francisco to troll 49ers fans.
Hopefully, the Lions keep giving him more and more reasons to attend Ford Field, especially for January games.
