Ole Miss fans receive fantastic news late on Friday ahead of the Week 6 game against South Carolina

The Ole Miss offense has been nearly unstoppable all year long outside of a few drives against Kentucky last week. Lane Kiffin's fast paced play calling, the vertical passing mixed with efficient running, everything has been looking good, staying on schedule in 2024. Why has it been so good that even after a down week Ole Miss still ranks second in yards per play?
The offensive success has largely been due to the connection between quarterback Jaxson Dart and star wide receiver Tre Harris. Heading into Week 6 Harris has more receiving yards than any wide receiver in FBS football and is likely on pace to win the Biletnikoff Award for being the best (or in many cases most productive) receiver in the game.
However, Harris had been listed as questionable for much of this week leading up to the South Carolina game. He was considered "probable" by those to the program heading into Friday, but there still wasn't true clarity as to his availability and whether perhaps he would just be a decoy Saturday. But late on Friday news broke that Harris was not on the newly required SEC injury report at all. Pete Thamel of ESPN broke this progression from questionable to off the injury report down succinctly in his post below.
This is huge news for the Ole Miss passing attack as Harris has been accounting for more than 40% of the yards through the air this season for the Rebels. Last week Harris hauled in 11 receptions for 176 yards, seeing 67% of the team's receiving production. That kind of impact player completely changes the game for Ole Miss.
South Carolina's pass rush is one of the fiercest in the nation, so it should help Jaxson Dart immensely having his favorite target to trust when pressure gets to him. Harris will almost assuredly lead the team in targets once again as the lone surefire mismatch problem from both a size and speed standpoint against the Gamecocks.
