Any time that a five star recruit reclassifies it can completely change the college football landscape. We just saw this happen with Ryan Williams at Alabama, as he's looking like the best true freshman wide receiver of all time, giving the Crimson Tide an elite game-changing playmaker.

This time around the reclassifying elite five star recruit is on the defensive side of the ball, and he looks like a surefire lock to become a Top 15 NFL Draft pick one day.

Jahkeem Stewart, a 6'6" 270-pound monster of a man along the defensive line will reportedly (via Steve Wiltfong of On3) reclassify to the 2025 class. Stewart is fresh off a season where he logged nearly 90 tackles, over 30 for a loss, and 20 sacks as a sophomore in high school and he's dominating once again this fall too.

This late in the process his reclassification makes Stewart the singular piece to next spring's puzzle that could instantly change the landscape of college football recruiting. LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, and USC are (at this time) his final four schools that he's considering.

Stewart spent all summer visiting several top schools on top of his current top four like Texas, Auburn, and capped things off watching USC face off against LSU in Las Vegas just over a month ago. He's made it known that he plans to visit all four of his top options (LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, and USC) before the early signing period, so the time to close the deal is coming very soon.

LSU is considered by many experts to be in the lead for Stewart's services as he has logged several unofficial visits with the Tigers, he currently plays for Edna Karr (one of the premier high schools in Louisiana that often sends players to LSU), and he would have an immediate path to starting from day one in Baton Rouge.

Brian Kelly and LSU's defense sorely needs defensive line depth as that position group has been a bit of a revolving door in 2024. Landing Jahkeem Stewart would give the Tigers an incredible talent to roll out alongside fellow five star (and current true freshman) Dominick McKinley who has already flashed in limited action. On top of that, if Stewart does commit, that likely gives LSU a top five recruiting class in all of college football for 2025.

As more details emerge on Jahkeem Stewart's visit schedule (especially to LSU) we'll be back with more on this pivotal five star talent's future.
