The Cleveland Browns are 1-3 on the season and could soon be getting some help for their defense with the suspension of rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. becoming official.

On Tuesday, the NFL handed down a five-game suspension to Hall. The rookie was suspended for Violating the Personal Conduct Policy and will be eligible to make his NFL debut on Oct. 13 when the Browns take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Back on Sept. 19, Hall pleaded no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct and received a $250 fine. The original charge was domestic violence against his fiancé but was lessened.

The NFL placed Hall on the Commissioner's Exempt List following the original incident and he has been away from the team since then. With the dice game suspension, Hall will essentially get time served for the four games he spent on the list.

Cleveland will gladly welcome Hall back to the field with the injuries that they have along the defensive line. Hall was the second-round pick of the Browns in the 2024 NFL Draft. Maurice Hurst is on the Injured Reserve and Myles Garrett has been banged up all season. Hall will give the Browns a capable pass rusher from the interior on Day 1.

Now, it will be about Hall getting himself into game shape if he is not there, then back onto the practice field. The off-field issue is in the rearview mirror and it looks as if the Browns are giving him a second chance.

The Ohio State product will be able to return to practice on Oct. 7 and prepare to get back on the field. Cleveland will need to make a corresponding move when the time comes to get him on the active roster.
