Week six in college football is set to kick off, and it should be a very entertaining one. There is only one matchup between two top 25 teams on the slate, but we are finally fully entrenched in conference matchups. We will finally begin to truly figure out the hierarchies of each conference, and the entirety of college football.

From a betting perspective, there is an opportunity on the table. Here are the best bets of the week, including riding the hot hand of several teams. As always, let’s make some money.

Houston at TCU – Horned Frogs -16.5

It’s been an up and down process over the last 12 months, but TCU has finally found their quarterback. When Sonny Dykes has one, the Horned Frogs have a chance to be pretty good, and Josh Hoover is very talented. Houston is a really bad football team right now, being outscored by a 54-0 margin over the last two weeks. The Horned Frogs are trending in a good direction, while the Cougars are doing the complete opposite. Let’s cash in on those trends.

Syracuse at (25) UNLV – over 58.5

Even while navigating the chaos surrounding the Matthew Sluka situation, the Runnin’ Rebels actually looked even better offensively this past weekend against Fresno State, coming out with a 59-14 victory. Led by quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams, the run game is strong and the pass game is beginning to find its groove. They are facing off against a Syracuse squad that also has the potential to score a lot of points behind quarterback Kyle McCord. Let the fireworks begin.

SMU at (22) Louisville – Mustangs +7

Louisville is coming off of a tough loss to Notre Dame last weekend 31-24. It was a game where they had the chance to tie it up in the final minutes, but were unable to capitalize. After those types of games, it isn’t unusual to see teams have a little bit of a letdown game, which I’m counting on to a degree. SMU is also beginning to play great football after a slow start to begin the year. It wouldn’t be shocking to see the Mustangs win outright, and I would seriously consider betting for that outcome as well.

Pittsburgh at UNC – Panthers -3

The Tar Heels are in a tough spot. Their defense is bad, and the quarterback play has left a lot to be desired. We also have Mack Brown asking his team if they want him to keep coaching them, which is a really bad sign. This feels like a team that could quit. For the Pitt Panthers, they are playing much better football than anybody projected going into the season. They are led by transfer signal caller Eli Holstein, who has been playing incredible football the last few weeks. Pittsburgh wins outright, and could win convincingly.
