The Minnesota Vikings continue to ride high with their 3-0 start and quarterback Sam Darnold has received the latest accolade. He was named Nickelodeon's Most Valuable Player, also known as the NVP award.
It's not a surprise that Darnold received accolades for his performance. He completed 60.7% of his passes for 181 yards and four touchdowns in the 34-7 rout of the Houston Texans. Darnold was calm, cool and collected the entire game and thrived in every moment you can think of.
The tradition that the Vikings have when one of their players wins the NVP is that they get to slime the coaches. It's something that wide receiver Justin Jefferson in week one of the 2022 season and quarterback Josh Dobbs in week nine of the 2023 season got to do to both head coach Kevin O'Connell and offensive coordinator Wes Phillips.
It wasn't just those two that got slimed. Rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy got in on the action and got slimed by Darnold. You can see the entire video below.
