The tight end position remains a key target for the Oregon Ducks in the 2025 recruiting cycle with less than a month to go until the early signing period kicks off on December 4. For the Ducks, they're working hard to flip the nation's top tight end and 38th-ranked recruit on On3, Linkon Cure, from Kansas State.
According to On3, Cure has a flight booked to Eugene for this weekend's Oregon game against Maryland. Head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks are working hard to add the blue-chipper into the fold.
One thing Oregon has going for it is the connection to Nike, but not just for the swag. Cure apparently has hopes of going into shoe design, and part of his visit to Eugene this weekend will be to meet with former Oregon players and Nike to discuss it.
"The Nike deal, he likes that. Life after football," Cure's father Greg told On3.
Oregon has been hot on the trail for Cure for a long time, having hosted him multiple times.
“Oregon does a great job staying in your ear. They’re sending things. They’re sending videos. They’re just working."
Cure's commitment to Kansas State is still strong, but it seems like Oregon is making a hard push. The product that Oregon is putting on the field likely has a big impact on this recruitment, as the No. 1 team in the country runs an offensive system that is very friendly to athletic tight ends. We consistently see offensive coordinator Will Stein putting Terrance Ferguson, Kenyon Sadiq, and Patrick Herbert in positions to utilize their hands and their athleticism after the catch.
“I think he’s happy with his decision being committed to K-State,” Greg recently said. “But it’s rolling around in his head, ‘golly am I right.’
Oregon will look to make a last-minute impact on Cure's commitment decision with Saturday's visit, showcasing everything the program has to offer.
