Pros:

Ball Skills

It's obvious that he plays both ways when you see him attack the ball in the air and make effortless, high-impact interceptions

Length

Makes opposing WRs very uncomfortable in press-man with strong strikes and lanky limbs that act as octopus arms. Parlays that into pass breakups and turnovers at the catch point

Athletic Traits

Rare that you see a player stand above the rest in a spot of dominant athletes. Constantly makes jaw-dropping plays that showcase elite explosiveness, leaping ability, raw speed, and fluidity

Cons

Durability

Lacks sand in his pants for a defender, with more of a linear build. Plays above his listed weight and physique, however, but has dealt with injuries in his college career

Transitions

Know its not due to a lack of athleticism, and his play IQ is notable but there is often hesitation out of his break or from pedal-to speed turn

Techincal Flaws

The lack of true position shows up at corner. He plays too high in his pedal and he has a tendency to open his gait too early, lending WRs into his blindspot

Player Evaluation:

Travis Hunter is one of the most remarkable athletes to enter the NFL Draft in recent memory. Other than a leaner frame, he possesses virtually no flaws from a physical standpoint and should be expected to add weight as he enters his athletic prime.

From a scheme perspective, you don't want to box Hunter in, but a split safety scheme where he can collapse on underneath patterns while using his length and ball skills to bait QBs into attacking the honey hole will be enticing for defensive coordinators.

Player Comparison:

Sauce Gardner

Hunter is a tad shorter, but he owns a very similar build and playstyle to the two-time All-Pro. Both win at the line of scrimmage with excellent length and physicality, and Hunter may already have the better ball skills given his WR background.
