The Philadelphia Eagles made some roster moves on Wednesday ahead of their Week 12 road match against the Los Angeles Rams.
The team signed defensive tackle Siaki Ika to the practice squad and released wide receiver Kyle Phillips.
This is Ika's second stint with Philly after the former third-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2023 had previously joined the Birds in October.
Ika has appeared in just four regular-season NFL games and one post-season game, all coming with the Browns last fall.
Before entering the draft, Ika was a standout defender at LSU and Baylor. He racked up 49 tackles and 4.5 sacks over his final two seasons at Baylor. He earned a first-team All-Big 12 selection nod and was named Big-12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2021. Ika started his college career at LSU, playing in 17 games across two seasons and tallying 22 tackles and a sack. He was also a member of LSU's 2019 championship team.
The Eagles also opened the 21-day practice window for wide receiver Britain Covey.
Covey had suffered a shoulder injury in the Eagles' Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints and has been sidelined ever since. Rookie defensive back Cooper DeJean has done a solid job handling punt return duties in Covey's absence but it will be nice to have him back once he is healthy.
