As previously reported, Notre Dame football is set to host elite 2025 Center Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh tight end Andrew Olesh this weekend during their matchup against Florida State. Olesh is committed to Michigan currently, and has been since the middle of July.
Several schools have continued to push for the talented pass catcher, even since making that initial commitment. That includes Notre Dame who already hold a commitment from Green Bay (Wisc.) Notre Dame De La Baie Academy tight end James Flanigan, an Irish legacy who is ranked as a consensus four-star player and a top 110 overall player or better by 247Sports, On3, and ESPN. Flanigan is a tremendous player.
Olesh is currently considered a consensus four-star player by every one of the major recruiting platforms that matter. The Pennsylvania native ranks highest by On3 and 247Sports, both pegging him as the No. 47 overall player and No. 3 tight end in the 2025 recruiting class. Looking at his offer list, it certainly matches that ranking.
The 6-5, 220-pound athlete is an athletic freak. As a junior last season, he hauled in 53 receptions for 973 yards and 10 touchdowns. Olesh also plays both linebacker and safety for Southern Lehigh, showcasing his tremendous overall athleticism all over the field.
With other programs like Oregon also pursuing Olesh heavily, it’s uncertain just what Notre Dame’s chances are. We will know a lot more after the visit this weekend. If they are able to end with a two-man tight end haul of Flanigan and Olesh, that would be the top duo for one program in the country.
