The Oklahoma Sooners' next game this weekend against the Missouri Tigers just became the biggest game of the Brent Venables era. I know, it seems crazy to say that, but this team needs a win to make going to a bowl game realistic, and this is the easiest team remaining on their schedule.
Oh, and did I mention this is considered a rivalry game, one that sees Missouri as a ranked team according to the College Football Playoffs? Well, the Missouri fans see it as a rivalry, Oklahoma fans not so much, but that's neither here nor there.
The Sooners' chances to win this game improve to 6-4 on the year, and be bowl eligible, just got much higher after some recent news. Of course, the news that Deion Burks and Jalil Farooq will probably play is huge, too, especially for Jackson Arnold, who has turned his season around completely.
But, there is also some news regarding the Tigers that helps, too.
According to Pete Nakos of On3, the Tigers' starting quarterback Brady Cook, who is one of the better QBs in the SEC, is doubtful to play on Saturday. The Sooners' defense will be facing Drew Pyne, who is, well, not that great.
The Sooners really need this win, and if they get it, they will have a ton of momentum riding with them heading into their games against the Alabama Crimson Tide and the LSU Tigers.
