Since then the idea of a "Rasheed Wallace type move" has been a big thing in Detroit. Any time one of the cities teams is doing pretty good before the trade deadline, you're damn near guaranteed to hear someone say "this team just needs to go get their Rasheed Wallace." It's code for "They're just a player away.
The Detroit Lions have been one of the best teams in the NFL this year and they are surging right now, but after the loss of Aidan Hutchinson, everyone has been talking about how this team needs one more guy. The Lions traded for Za'Darius Smith at the trade deadline and it looks like he fully understands what he can be in Detroit.
The stories seem so similar right now. A really good team with championship aspirations who adds a good veteran player that really wants to win a championship in his career. We've seen this story before and we know how this can play out.
