Following a quiet start to the season, Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert had a career day in the team's 15-12 win over the New Orleans Saints.

The Eagles desperately needed a big-time play in the fourth quarter and Goedert was the guy for that as he caught a 61-yard catch-and-run pass from Jalen Hurts that set them up at the Saints' 4.

“I just ran as fast as I could for as long as I could,” Goerdert said postgame.

The catch marked the longest of his career. It was also his 10th catch of the game, which was a career-high, along with the 170 total yards he had that day.

“I wasn’t able to see (the play) after the game, but I was able to see it on the replay and I saw three people just kind of run into each other,” Goedert said. “That’s what made it work. I tried to do what I could do. Jahan got the big assist there. Shout out to him. Without him doing his job, I wouldn’t have been able to do mine. Like I always say, it takes a whole team.”

Goedert's play led to running back Saquon Barkley punching in a rushing touchdown and then successfully converting a two-point conversion to put the Eagles up 15-12.

On the Saints' next drive, Eagles' former undrafted free agent Reed Blankenship capped off the win with a game-sealing interception.

The win was much-needed after the Eagles fell embarrassingly to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football. They now head into Week 4 with two wins and a loss under their belt as they prepare to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday.

Goedert is unsatisfied and has one goal between now and then.

“I think I’m going to work on my speed a little bit so I can get into the end zone next time,” Goedert said.
