Through the first two weeks, we've seen a Buffalo Bills team that has been able to rely on defense, a running attack that popped off in Week 2, and a short passing game that embodies the "everybody eats" mentality of offensive coordinator Joe Brady.

It's been highly effective, producing one of the most efficient offenses in the league, and more importantly, a 2-0 record.

That might not be what we see on Monday Night Football against the Jaguars, though. Josh Allen might be primed to take his shots down the field.

Josh Allen could be poised to take his shots on Monday Night Football

“The Jaguars are a man-heavy defense missing a few key pieces in their secondary. I expect the Bills to be aware of this and try to attack them early with a play action shot and some downfield attempts in one-on-one matchups," Joe DeRosa of Cover 1 told me. "With this in mind, I think there’s a good chance that this is Josh’s highest ADoT of the season. The key will be how the Bills pass protection holds up against a talented Jaguars pass rush.”

This echoes plenty of what the Bills have been saying throughout this week, including Allen giving high praise to the Jaguars front.

"You know, their front seven – they get after it," Josh Allen said earlier this week. "They got two really supreme edge rushers. I'd even go out and say three. The last couple times we've played them, they've gotten the best of us. So taking that to account, obviously a new D-coordinator there, but they're flying around. They're playing real solid together on defense. They've got guys with a lot of motor, and they don't let up. So we're gonna have our hands full."

While I don't necessarily agree that this is one of the best defenses in the league, their front seven is certainly capable of more disruption than they have caused this year. Last season, Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker combined for 27.5 sacks. This will be the toughest test that the Bills offensive line has had to deal with so far this season.

If the line can hold up, there should be plenty of opportunities down the field for Allen to attack, especially with their top cornerback, Tyson Campbell, on injured reserve, and corner Darnell Savage being downgraded to out on Sunday because of his quadricep injury.

The secondary is banged up, and even before the Savage injury, was allowing the 11th-most yards per game and the ninth-highest EPA per pass play.

This could be the Josh Allen aerial attack game that we haven't seen through the first two games of the season, and could bode well for shot plays down the field with Dalton Kincaid, Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, and Mack Hollins.
