Josh Allen’s standard for a good uniform is a little different than everyone else’s.
The Buffalo Bills‘ ‘Nickel City’ uniforms are not exactly what you’d call popular right now.
It’s a dramatically different look and feel versus what we’re accustomed to seeing from a Buffalo Bills kit. But for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, that’s exactly what is needed as the franchise tries to turn the page from where they’ve been stuck and evolve into something new. He’s asking you to put your hate away — and perhaps his own perspective on what makes a good uniform could be adopted by all.

“It’s a new look. It is. I understand that but we gotta be new. And these are kind of symbolic of that. I’m excited to wear them. We had a lot of people put in a lot of hard work for these jerseys. It symbolizes a lot of newness and that I am excited about…I’ve heard a lot of comments about the jerseys. I enjoy them. I think it’s very symbolic of what we want to do, who we want to be. I understand people want the old jerseys and the old helmets and all that. But at some point, too, we are moving forward, we have to move forward and do something. And that’s what we’re doing.”

This exchange starts as a good-intentioned ‘franchise quarterback’ moment. Allen points out the people who spent so much time and energy on creating the design. It quickly devolves into something more chaotic as questions start springing out left and right. But I’ll say this — one thing I love about this exchange is Josh’s standard for a good uniform.

Life, of course, isn’t always that simple. But Allen choosing to make it that simple says plenty about what matters and what doesn’t to the Buffalo Bills as they enter into the Joe Brady era. Just win. And win where you haven’t been able to before.
