The Cincinnati Bengals are getting extra help in the trenches tonight for "Monday Night Football."
Defensive tackle Domenique Davis has been elevated off Cincinnati's practice squad for tonight's matchup against the Washington Commanders.
Davis first came to Cincinnati as a free agent during the 2022 offseason. He entered the NFL in 2020 as an undrafted free agent signing for the Jets, but never played a snap for them. He was out of football entirely during all of 2021 before resurfacing in the USFL in the spring of 2022. The Bengals took a chance on him shortly afterwards.
The last two years have gone fairly similar for Davis. He's been a mainstay on the practice squad since 2022, and this is the third time he's ever been elevated for a game. He's logged 37 career snaps for the Bengals' defense in his short career.
Cincinnati has multiple injuries at defensive tackle heading into tonight's game. Sheldon Rankins has been declared out, and there's a strong chance B.J. Hill won't suit up either.
Without either starter available, Zach Carter and Jay Tufele figure to play first with rookie Kris Jenkins Jr. and newly-signed free agent Lawrence Guy Sr. backing them up.
Davis figures to be the fifth active DT tonight and will revert back to the practice squad tomorrow.
