The Buffalo Bills beatdown of the Jacksonville Jaguars 47-10 on Monday Night Football is certainly going to be a game that is remembered by a lot of Bills fans. For the players themselves, it'll be quite memorable for a bunch of them.
This particular Monday Night Football matchup saw plenty of Bills players log career firsts that they will never forget.
Keon Coleman's first career touchdown
The Buffalo Bills were busy on draft night, moving back twice. They moved from 28th overall to 32nd overall, giving the Kansas City Chiefs the right to select wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Then they moved back one pick with the Carolina Panthers, who used the 32nd overall pick on wide receiver Xavier Legette. Maybe Brandon Beane just really doesn't like the name Xavier. #Analysis.
With the 33rd overall pick and the first pick of the second round, the Bills selected Keon Coleman. On Monday night, Coleman caught only one pass, but it was a big one – he hauled in a 29-yard touchdown to put the Bills up 20-3 in the second quarter.
Damar Hamlin first interception
Everyone knows what Damar Hamlin went through on the field in Cincinnati. Now, Hamlin is adding to his reputation as a football player. To come back from what he went through to now being a starting safety and anchoring the defensive back end is special.
Hamlin was in the right place at the right time on Monday night. Jaguars' quarterback Trevor Lawrence overthrew his receiver, and Hamlin saw his first career interception land right in his lap. The smiles and the hugs on the sideline were a truly special scene, as was the reaction from all of Bills Mafia.
Javon Solomon first snap goes for a strip sack
Rookie defensive end Javon Solomon was out injured for the the first two games of the season but was active on Monday. He didn't see much playing time, but late in the game with the result already well in-hand, Solomon was able to make his presence felt.
Solomon was on the field for 10 plays, and logged his first career sack with a special burst on a skip step past LT Cam Robinson.
Ray Davis first career touchdown
James Cook wasn't the only running back to find the end zone. In fact, three running backs got in the score sheet, including rookie Ray Davis, who carved out a role as the second running back in this offense in training camp.
Davis is the complementary running back that Buffalo has been searching for, and seeing him find the end zone for the first time is a welcome sight.
Joe Andreessen first time active, first snaps
You know it's a night of feel-good stories and storylines abounding when "Buffalo Joe" Andreessen is fifth on the list. Andreessen, the local product that played at University of Buffalo and went from a rookie camp tryout to making the 53-man roster, saw his first game action of the season.
It's an incredible story in a night of stories. For Andreessen, growing up just outside of Buffalo as a lifelong Bills fan, being able to suit up and log 14 defensive snaps for your hometown team must have been as surreal as it gets.
