The Denver Broncos could start their season even worse than it already is now with the latest news coming on Saturday morning.

No, Russell Wilson hasn't been great, but I think anyone who has seen the backup situation behind Wilson knows it is not better than what Wilson is doing even now, let alone what he was doing beforehand in Seattle.

The Broncos have dealt with more injuries than nearly anyone else in the NFL. Now, their starting quarterback, who never misses games, will miss the game against the New York Jets in Week 7.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, "While Russell Wilson wanted to play despite a hamstring injury and did everything he could to play, the Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett will hold back the 9-time Pro Bowl QB vs. the Jets to allow him to heal and prevent a lingering injury, per sources."

So it seems like Wilson wanted to play through the injury, which he has apparently already been doing all year, and not only make things worse but still play badly because of the injury.

The Denver Broncos will start Brett Rypien at quarterback on Sunday.

This week, it was almost as if they had us believing Wilson would play anyways. Wilson especially made people believe that with his 'Wolverine blood' comments.

Either way, it's another disappointing development for Wilson and the Broncos.
