The Buffalo Bills are making their final preparations for the most anticipated matchup of the season.
On Monday Night Football there is a very real possibility that a win would mean the number one seed in the AFC for the Buffalo Bills.
Even with sky-high expectations and a barrage of injuries, the Bills are looking at the top spot to have the playoffs run through Orchard Park.
Despite the team's recent success, Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd went viral for some controversial remarks on the Bills' defense.
Matt Parrino from New York Upstate reported on the receiver's remarks and dove into some analysis surrounding the game.
Boyd is a folk hero in the Bills Mafia community. The wide receiver caught the touchdown pass from Andy Dalton that helped break the 17-year playoff drought for Buffalo.
However, now he will undoubtedly fall on the bad side of the Mafia. Boyd was quick to point out the "basic" defense that Leslie Frazier runs, hinting at the teams' ability to make an impact against Buffalo.
Boyd described, in detail, what makes Buffalo's defense basic: "They don’t do too much disguising – it’s kind of straightforward, they don’t do all the trickery things that we’ve seen a lot from defenses."
The wide receiver doubled down on his skepticism of the Bills just moments later. "I mean, we prepare for everything. However they want to play it, we are ready for the exotic looks to regular looks or (if) you want to try to hide coverage, we’re really ready for it.”
“I think they play well together but (they’re) not the best that we’ve seen," added the Bengals wide receiver.
In the tale of the tape, Buffalo's defense is one that Boyd should maybe give a little more credit to. With Tre White being back in the mix and reports of Christian Benford beginning to practice again, this team is only going to continue to get better.
It's all good fun as both teams prepare for a showdown of epic proportions on Monday Night Football.
Word to the wise, though. Don't poke the bear.
