The New Orleans Saints are about to double down on an offseason decision they made coming into this year, as NOLA.com's Jeff Duncan reported on Tuesday.
The Saints have had what you could call a disappointing season in 2022. They have all the pieces on their roster to be a competent team but have yet to show any consistency of that.
I think if you ask fans, media, and most people that follow the Saints, coaching has been a huge problem for this team this season. It hasn't been the only problem, but it has been a big one.
Dennis Allen has displayed his issues several times this season, and in my opinion, has shown that he still isn't ready to be a head coach. However, the Saints are doubling down on the decision they made this past offseason to make him the head coach.
Per Jeff Duncan, his sources say the Saints won't be one of the many job openings available this offseason, as they will stick with Allen heading into next season.
I mean, on one hand, the Saints won't have to deal with turnover on the staff for a second straight year. On the other hand, though, I think there is more than enough proof that this stuff isn't the one that can take this team to the promised land.
Hopefully there are some other changes that do happen this offseason that can help that become more realistic.
