The Denver Broncos were hoping to get some positive news regarding running back Javonte Williams on Monday. Unfortunately, disaster struck.
Williams has a torn ACL and LCL. The RB also has a torn posterior lateral corner. He will not return this season for the Broncos.
Williams suffered the injury in yesterday's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The divisional defeat continues to get worse for the Broncos.
It will be a long road back for Williams, and the Broncos will not rush their young runner back.
In the first month of the season, Williams had 47 carries for 204 yards. He also caught 16 passes for 76 yards.
Expect Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone to take over the bulk of the workload at RB for the Broncos going forward.
