The Denver Broncos lost something yet again. No, not their dignity after losing to the New York Jets, although that may also be right. No, they lost another key player to injury.
During Sunday's game against the Jets, the Broncos had trouble getting the running game going. But, what they did get going in Mike Boone, didn't last long, as he left the game early.
According to ESPN senior writer Jeff Legwold who covers the Broncos, Boone injured his ankle and left the stadium in a walking boot. He also reported that before the game was even over, the Broncos had contacted the San Francisco 49ers about signing a player off of their practice squad.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Denver Broncos signed Marlon Mack to their active roster as he was previously on the 49ers' practice squad.
Mack will likely get more work than you think, as so far this year it has been a running back by-committee approach since Williams went down. Boone was getting a good workload for a guy who is listed as the third running back.
Hopefully can help restore hope and the running game for the Denver Broncos.
