Running back depth has been one of the most questionable parts of the New Orleans Saints' roster this season.
Mark Ingram has been inconsistent and also dealt with injuries. No one behind him as stepped up to take his backup role. The coaching staff has not used Alvin Kamara nearly enough, either. Overall, the position just hasn't been a strength this season.
Now, Ingram will most likely miss the rest of the season with a leg injury. The Saints could use some more talent in the backfield.
The Houston Texans may help them with that, and New Orleans should take advantage. Houston is releasing young RB Eno Benjamin. They recently picked him up after the Arizona Cardinals let him go.
The Saints should scoop Benjamin up right now.
Benjamin has shown some impressive flashes in his career so far. He was the backup for the Cardinals before they released him earlier this season.
He even got some increased reps when starter James Conner missed time with injury.
As you can see, the young RB has some pop. His athleticism is impressive, and he deserves another shot with a team that will give him some playing time.
The Saints should certainly attempt to pick him up to gain more depth behind Alvin Kamara.
Benjamin could provide them with some solid play as the backup RB.
