The Buffalo Bills made the announcement that pass rusher Von Miller would miss the remainder of the season.

Media pundits began declaring the season officially over for the Buffalo Bills. Miller's dominance on the field was what gave Buffalo the edge in the Super Bowl odds.

However, there's one crucial detail that's being underreported. Specifically, a huge misconception surrounding his injury.

When looking at the upcoming matchup against the Jets, even without Miller, the Bills are in a great position to succeed.

As mentioned in the tweet, Buffalo was without some heavy hitters in the last matchup which was ultimately decided by a Gabe Davis drop late in the fourth quarter. Furthermore, Josh Allen was neck-deep in his midseason slump during the game.

Miller's injury will undoubtedly hurt the team, but he wasn't just brought to Buffalo for what he could do on the field. Miller is an asset to the young core of players on the defensive line. Players like Boogie Basham, Gregory Rousseau, and Ed Oliver will all need to step up in his absence.

A bad taste of history

Last Thanksgiving the Bills lost another star player on the defense and the injury had national pundits declaring the Bills' season was over. When Tre White got hurt, many believed that was it for the Buffalo Bills. However, everyone can remember the 13-second Kansas City game. Even without Tre White, the Bills were just seconds away from victory.

Losing Von Miller is going to hurt, but there are plenty of other members on the defense who are more than capable of stepping up. The Bills' defense is top five in the NFL currently. Players like Jordan Poyer, Tremaine Edmunds, Ed Oliver, and Matt Milano will need to elevate their game even higher.

Don't blink

It won't be easy, but this team is resilient, to say the least. You can never count out a team that has one of the best quarterbacks in the entire league at the helm. Tie that in with a few All-Pro members on the defense, and the future is still bright.

Leslie Frazier has proven to be a wizard on the defensive side of the ball. Get ready to see some of the younger members ball out.

Von Miller, during the Bills' recent slump, had a message that everyone can relate to right now. Don't blink.
