A former Pro Bowler who signed a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs before the 2022 season says he'd like to return to KC next season.

Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who signed a one-year deal with Kansas City in March, said on Thursday he'd like to continue playing with the Chiefs beyond this year.

"I would love to stay here, to be honest," said Smith-Schuster. "This offense is unbelievable, the coaching staff is unbelievable. If it was up to me, of course, why not?"

Smith-Schuster has 44 receptions for 582 yards and two touchdowns so far this season.

Over a full season, those numbers extrapolate to 94 receptions for 1,236 yards.

The 1,236 receiving yards would be the second most in Smith-Schuster's career. And the 94 receptions would be the third most in his career.

If Smith-Schuster is going to perform at this level, then it seems like a no-brainer to bring him back next season. He's an underrated wide receiver who was just in a bad situation with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It's also pretty obvious that Smith-Schuster has a good connection with Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs might as well run it back with Smith-Schuster — especially if they can work out a team-friendly deal.
