The New Orleans Saints' secondary has had special energy for years. Against one star wide receiver, they always seem to take their play to another level, though.

It may not be the receiver you would think, either.

It is actually Las Vegas Raiders' WR Davante Adams.

Even during his time with the Green Bay Packers, the Saints got the best of Adams quite often. They seem to know how to defend him, regardless of the talent they have available.

On Sunday, the Saints broke a historic streak by Adams. The star wideout had caught multiple passes in 81 straight games.

He had just one catch against New Orleans.

Rookie cornerback Alontae Taylor guarded Adams for most of the matchup, and he had him on lockdown. Adams was rarely open, and Derek Carr only connected with him once.

Adams played well in his first matchup with the Saints in 2014. He had seven catches for 75 yards.

Since then, he has struggled mightily against New Orleans. In three games, Adams has eight receptions for 71 yards.

He's been targeted 17 times over those three matchups. It hasn't gone well for him.

The Saints certainly deserve plenty of credit for their performances against one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
